Deputy Principal
Tammy Gordon
Born and raised on a cattle property west of Bowen Queensland, Tammy started dancing at the age of 4 with her local dance school, Nicole’s Dance Experience. During high school she dedicated herself to her training, travelling over an hour to Proserpine each week where she trained with Dee Jays School of Dance. During her time with the school she progressed from being a student to assisting with teaching classes and eventually taking on a full-time teaching position after graduating from high school in 2012.
During this time Tammy completed her Advanced Foundation examination with the Royal Academy of Dance, as well as her CSTD Tap Examinations. She was fortunate enough to have many opportunities in experiencing a wide range of genres including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Hip-Hop from various leading members of the industry. After High School Tammy went on to teach in Bowen, Proserpine and Collinsville whilst maintaining jobs book-keeping throughout the community.
In 2014 she was awarded her Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies through two years of study with the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2017 Tammy established a dance school in Collinsville with close friend and fellow dance teacher Bianca Wilson, with the regional school boasting over 60 enrolments. Tammy is looking forward to new adventures and the opportunity to spread her love of dance with her students.
